FAQ
About the product
What is NovaStation?
NovaStation is a Windows desktop application for monitoring crypto markets. It centers on a chart-first workflow with configurable indicator overlays, an on-chart signal engine, optional alert routing (Discord, Telegram, webhook, desktop), and built-in paper trading. It is a market-analysis and decision-support tool — not an exchange, not a broker, and not financial advice.
What is NovaStation Lite?
NovaStation Lite is a free limited preview of the desktop workspace. It lets you explore the chart-first interface with a smaller set of symbols and timeframes. Signals, alerts, paper trading, and advanced tools are available in NovaStation Premium. Download Lite if you want to see the workspace before upgrading.
Lite is intentionally limited. It does NOT include: signals, signal markers, signal labels, signal history, trade indications, entry or exit suggestions, Discord or Telegram or webhook alerts, or paper trading automation. Lite is intended as a free preview of the chart workspace, not a trading tool.
What is the difference between Lite and Premium?
Lite — Free:
- Limited symbol selection
- Limited timeframe selection
- Chart-first workspace preview
- Basic market viewing
- No license required
- No signals or buy/sell markers
- No trade indications or signal history
- No Discord, Telegram, or webhook alerts
- No paper trading automation
Premium — $14.99 / month:
- Full watchlist with every supported pair
- Full supported timeframes (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d)
- On-chart signal engine — markers, labels, history, context
- Alerts & webhooks — Discord, Telegram, webhook, desktop
- Manual and automatic paper trading
- Advanced chart overlays and indicator panels
- Custom settings and watchlist
- Premium access and ongoing email support
Premium is the main NovaStation product. Lite is intended as a free way to explore the workspace before deciding to subscribe.
Does NovaStation Lite show buy/sell signals?
No. NovaStation Lite does not show buy signals, sell signals, signal markers, signal labels, signal history, signal confidence, signal reasons, entry suggestions, exit suggestions, or trade-direction hints of any kind. Lite is a workspace preview — it shows the chart and a limited set of symbols and timeframes, nothing more.
The on-chart signal engine, alert routing, and paper trading automation are all Premium features. They become available after subscribing and completing the manual access verification step on the homepage.
What platforms does it run on?
NovaStation runs on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The app is delivered through a Windows setup wizard / installer for easier installation. macOS and Linux are not currently supported.

Is NovaStation financial advice?
No. NovaStation is informational software — it shows charts, runs indicators, and surfaces signals. It is not financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or tax advice. We are not registered investment advisers and we do not know your personal situation. Every trading decision and the risk that comes with it remains yours. Read the Risk Disclaimer for the full picture.
Does NovaStation place trades for me?
No. NovaStation has a built-in signal engine that fires on-chart based on the configured indicators and gates, and it can route those signals to optional notification channels (Discord, Telegram, webhook, desktop). It does not connect to an exchange and place real orders on your behalf. There is no auto-execution component and no broker integration. NovaStation is monitoring and analysis software — not a trading bot.
Which timeframes are supported?
NovaStation supports the 15m, 1h, 4h, and 1d timeframes. You can switch between them on any chart from inside the workspace.
Are lower timeframes noisier?
Yes — lower timeframes such as 15m react faster to market movement, but they also tend to produce noisier signals than higher timeframes. For cleaner signal context, 1h and 4h are generally recommended. The right choice depends on the symbols you watch and your own style; the workspace lets you switch freely.
About the subscription
How much does NovaStation cost?
$14.99 / month USD, billed monthly through Stripe or PayPal — pick whichever you prefer at checkout. Cancel anytime from your Stripe receipt or PayPal automatic payments dashboard.
Is there a free trial?
NovaStation Premium does not use a time-limited free trial. Instead, you can download NovaStation Lite first. Lite is a free chart/workspace preview that lets you test the interface, chart flow, theme, and basic visual settings before committing to Premium. Premium unlocks signals, alerts, paper trading, custom watchlists, advanced controls, and the full workflow.
Do I need Python, Inno Setup, or developer tools to run NovaStation?
No. NovaStation ships as a standard Windows setup installer. You download the installer, run it through the wizard, and launch NovaStation from the Start menu like any other Windows app. You do not need Python, PyInstaller, Inno Setup, command-line tools, or any source code on your machine.
How do I cancel?
Three options: (a) Stripe customers — open the self-service portal link in any Stripe receipt email and click Cancel subscription; (b) PayPal customers — open your PayPal automatic payments dashboard and cancel the recurring payment; (c) email [email protected] and we will cancel from our side. Access continues through the end of the current paid billing period. Subscription payments themselves are non-refundable — see Refunds & cancellation for the full policy.
Can I get a refund?
NovaStation subscriptions are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime to stop future billing, and your access remains active through the end of your current paid billing period. Please review the Lite preview, the feature list, and the risk disclaimer before subscribing. The full policy lives on the Refunds & cancellation page.
What payment methods do you accept?
Stripe (credit cards and most regional alternatives) and PayPal. Pick whichever you prefer at checkout. Both unlock the same subscription. Stripe and PayPal handle all payment data; we never see your card or account details.
Access verification & setup
How do I receive access after payment?
NovaStation access is delivered through a manual verification process. The four-step flow:
- Choose a payment option — subscribe with Stripe or PayPal at pricing.
- Send your setup details to [email protected] from your checkout email — a copy-ready template is on the thank-you page.
- Order is reviewed and verified against the Stripe or PayPal record by hand.
- Access and setup instructions are delivered manually — the Windows setup installer link and first-run guide arrive in one reply, typically within a few hours.
The full process and a copy-ready email template live on the thank-you page.
Why is access manually delivered?
Manual delivery is a deliberate access-verification step. Each subscription is matched against the Stripe or PayPal payment record by hand before the download link is sent — this catches payment issues, mismatched emails, and duplicate orders before they turn into activation problems. The trade-off is a small wait between checkout and download, typically a few hours, which we keep as short as we can.
How long does access verification take?
Each payment is reviewed by hand, usually within a few hours during normal business hours. Overnight or weekend requests can take longer. There is no public download URL — the email reply is the official access channel, which is also why everything is delivered together (download link, setup guide, follow-up answer) in one message.
What information do I need to send?
Full name, purchase email, payment provider (Stripe or PayPal), transaction ID or receipt details, and the machine code (if you already have it from running the app once). The thank-you page has a copy-ready email template with these fields pre-filled.
What should I do if Windows shows a warning when I run the .exe?
NovaStation is not currently code-signed (code-signing certificates are expensive for an indie project), so Windows SmartScreen may show an "unverified publisher" or "Windows protected your PC" warning the first time the file runs. Click More info > Run anyway only after you have confirmed that the file came directly from us by email. Always download NovaStation from the official link in your verification reply — never from a third-party mirror or forwarded link.
What happens if I need help after purchase?
One support address handles everything — manual access verification, billing, install, machine-code questions, and bug reports — at [email protected]. Email from your checkout address with a clear description and any error message; replies usually arrive within a business day.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes — cancel anytime. Stripe customers use the self-service portal link in any Stripe receipt and click Cancel subscription. PayPal customers open their PayPal automatic payments dashboard and cancel the recurring payment. Either way, access continues through the end of the current billing cycle and no further charges are made. The full policy is on Refunds & cancellation.
Can I move NovaStation to a different machine?
Yes. Email [email protected] from your checkout address and we will help you set up on the new machine.
What happens to the app after I cancel?
Your subscription stays active through the end of the billing cycle. After that, the desktop app's runtime check fails and live data stops. The .exe itself stays on your machine — you just cannot use it without an active subscription.
Data, privacy & security
Does NovaStation store my trading data?
The desktop app stores trading-adjacent data locally on your machine — paper-trade ledger, signal history, settings, watchlist. That data never leaves your computer. We do not collect, transmit, or analyze your trading activity. See the Privacy Policy.
What about exchange API keys / webhooks I configure?
Anything you paste into NovaStation — Discord webhook URLs, Telegram bot tokens, third-party webhooks — is stored locally on your machine in the app's settings file. The desktop app uses them to talk directly to those services. Nothing is routed through us.
Is the .exe signed?
Not currently — code-signing certificates are expensive for an indie project. Windows may show an "unverified publisher" warning the first time you run the file. Choose More info > Run anyway only after you have confirmed the file came directly from us by email. Only download NovaStation from the official link in your verification reply — never from a forwarded or third-party copy.
Is NovaStation a finished product?
NovaStation is a real, paid product that is also actively being improved. New .exe versions ship while your subscription is active, and the support address handles bug reports directly. If something is unclear or unexpected, contact [email protected] so it can be reviewed.
Still stuck?
Email [email protected] with a screenshot of the issue, the exact step where it happened, and any error message. We usually reply within a business day.
